This concert will take you through different aspects of the Passion of Jesus. You will hear music of lament that cries out for help in great need, music that tells of disappointment and the longing for redemption. But also music that expresses confidence and joy at the promise of better times ahead. In keeping with the tradition of previous years, we are delighted to conclude the 'Muziek in de Koningskerk' concert series. Marijke van Klaveren, conductor of the Voorburgs Vocal Ensemble, and Gilles Michels, conductor of Con Passione, studied together in Rotterdam under Barend Schuurman. Like Marijke, Gilles has extensive experience of working with children and young people. The two conductors occasionally meet as colleagues and are looking forward to working together.
